Early Life

Sean Vo Kirkpatrick was born on July the 8th, 1984 to definitely human parents Terry Kirkpatrick and Huynh Vo.  Raised outside a small town (Urbana, Ohio), near the top of a small hill, with lovely but very few neighbors, surrounded by cows, corn, soy, and a handful of horses.  His parents fostered his artistic growth as a child, always keeping him well-stocked with paper, pencils, and markers.  They instilled a love of live theatre and music at an early age that continues to this day (though Sean should really get to the theatre more often, these days...).  The local library was a source of endless wonder to young Sean, being drawn into wonders of the ancient cultures of Egypt, Rome, and the Aztec for most of his youth, then future worlds of Arthur C. Clarke, Isaac Asimov, and Robert Silverberg in middle and high school. These books would serve to fire up his vivid imagination, and inspire him to sketch and doodle all manner of strange aliens, beasts, and landscapes.  Having been introduced to origami by his mother (who, though Vietnamese, lived and went to college in Japan to earn her Electrical Engineering degree) though a couple introductory-level books, he quickly excelled and tore through the library's very limited selection, until stymied by complex sinks (especially the closed sink), in a time before the internet was widely utilized.  He relegated origami to a minor hobby at this point, mostly relegated to leaving cute tips.

College

and then the fantastic realms of J.K. Rowling, George R.R. Martin, and the various books of rules and lore or roleplaying games such as Werewolf: the Apocalypse and Talislanta in his young adult life.
